Monday, July 30th, 2007Moving server equipment.
Spent 10 hours and $2.50 (on two Vault drinks) to move 10 servers, two SAN devices, two fiber channel switches, and one tape library. I wasn’t even expecting it to take half of that. Of course, most of that was not “moving” the equipment, it was disconnecting it and [...]
Lately
Sunday, June 10th, 2007What have I been doing lately?
Took Friday afternoon off cause I wasn’t feeling well… took some Tylenol and slept all afternoon. Basically felt out of it all day.
Watched the shuttle Atlantis launch into space (see below)
Did a little art project (see below)
Went to the beach, went for a swim
Went swimming in the pool, relaxed
What I do at work
Wednesday, June 6th, 2007Well, the bottom line that I usually tell everyone so they’re not like “Huh?” afterwards, I tell them “computer stuff.” Sometimes I go as far as telling them that I do “server administration and programming.” As vague at that is, it adequately covers what I do. To be a little more specific [...]
Florida!
Sunday, May 20th, 2007Yea, I’m in Florida and its great. The first week of work was a little boring, as I had to catch up on training stuff that I’m required to do. Other than training, I have lots to do… some of it could be very interesting. I’d go into more detail but then [...]
My Future
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007I finish this semester May 2nd. This summer I’ll be down in Florida yet again. Another 14 weeks of work at Kennedy Space Center, starting May 14th. I’ll return to school for my final semester, which I hope will be easy. But after that?
Either NASA offers me a position, or
I end [...]
What have I learned? Part 1
Thursday, April 5th, 2007I wrote this at two separate times back in 2005 when I spent most of my year working at Kennedy Space Center. I never published it, but I kept it. I figured its time to post it.
Essentially I wrote about what I learned while working there. Some of it’s geeky. [...]
Water Spout
Thursday, July 20th, 2006There was a water spout that formed off of the Cape Canaveral Air Force station beach. It was pretty cool, well formed. Saw it as I went to lunch.
Shuttle Landing
Monday, July 17th, 2006I got to see the landing from the landing viewing site (adjacent to the control tower and press viewing site). Essentially I got the same view as all the pictures and video of the landing. Though, the press had a higher view.
Vroom
Sunday, July 2nd, 2006Shuttle launch has been postponed until July 4th @ 2:38 PM.
Vroom
Saturday, July 1st, 2006The shuttle was suppose to launch today at 3:49 PM but they scrubbed due to weather. Next try is tomorrow at 3:26 PM. Would be nice if they were able to launch. If they don’t, a 48 hour turn around would put the launch on Tuesday. Or they can try Monday [...]
